Bedrooms
The Manoir sleeps up to 22 in eight bedrooms with six bathrooms, and we have an additional five travel cots for little ones and a z-bed. All our bedrooms are super comfy and have enough room for a travel cot or extra z-bed (please request on booking).
The long Bedroom (bedroom 1)
The Long Bedroom is on the first floor of the Old Side of the Manoir, with windows that look over both sides of the house, so it's lovely and light for the whole day. The bed is a kingsize and there is a lovely squishy velvet sofa for you to fall into. It shares the (huge!) main bathroom across the hallway with Bleue.

Bleue (bedroom 2)
The Bleue bedroom is also on the first floor of the Old Side of the Manoir, overlooking the beautiful, cow-strewn, view of the valley. It has a tiny room right next to it where we usually place a cot if it's needed for that room. It share the main bathroom with The Long Bedroom.
Sleeps: 2 in a queen-sized double.
Beatrix (bedroom 3)
The Beatrix bedroom is on the top floor of the Old Side of the Manoir, in the eaves with a super high ceiling, low beams and a quirky charm. The Velux windows overlook the valley and it's en-suite bathroom with loo on the landing is usually shared with Enid, across the hall.
Sleeps: 3 in a superking double (or twin) and single.
Enid (bedroom 4)
Enid is also on the top floor of the Old Side of the Manoir, duck through its cute door to find bunting and a miniature bench as well as three single beds, perfect for little ones.
Sleeps: 3 (or 4 children) in two singles and a small double
Rose (bedroom 5)
Rose is situated on the ground floor in the New Side of the Manoir, with French windows that open out on to the courtyard, lovely for sitting outside in the sun. There are a few steps between this bedroom and the main living areas, but it's well-suited to our guests with reduced mobility. This bedroom has its own en-suite shower room.
Sleeps: 2 in a superking double or twin.
Chapeaux (bedroom 6)
Chapeaux is on the first floor of the New Side of the house with views overlooking the valley and gorgeous beams, and is decorated in neutral greys and creams. It has its own en-suite shower room.

Campagne (bedroom 7)
Campagne is on the first floor of the New Side of the house, opposite Chapeaux and enjoys the same views overlooking the valley. Its decor takes inspiration from the countryside and it has a beautiful antique sleigh bed to cosy up in. It has its own en-suite shower room with a rain shower head.
Sleeps: 3 in a one queen-sized double and a single.
The old Games Room (bedroom 8)
Up a further few steps from the first floor of the New Side of the Manoir, The Old Games Room, as it's name suggests, used to be the games room of the house. It is our largest bedroom and it great for families with its multiple beds. Its two windows overlook the lawns and pool and it has its own shower room right next door.
Sleeps: 5 in two queen-sized doubles and a single.
Reception Rooms and Common Spaces
Manoir La Croix de La Jugie is perfect for groups, not only because of its many bedrooms, but also because there are enough entertaining and relaxing areas for everyone to have their own space. Gather all together in the large Kitchen or Grand Salon or take yourself off to read a book in the Library. Send the kids upstairs to watch a DVD, or take a splinter group off to the Billiard room to test your ball skills.

The Kitchen is the heart of the house with not only room to cater for big groups, but a huge farmhouse kitchen table too, ready to host long lunches and hearty dinners. There is a wood-burning stove for the cooler months and the french windows open on to the Kitchen Terrace for the long hot summers.
Grand Salon
This huge Sitting Room is a grand and comfy space for the whole group to gather on squashy sofas, large armchairs, or curling up on floor cushions near the fire. It has a huge open stone fireplace which is perfect for blazing fireside talks in the colder months. The room spans the depth of the house with French doors and windows overlooking the front and the back of the property.
Dining Room
A smaller, intimate dining room is the perfect place for grown-ups supper once the kids have gone to bed, whilst smaller than the Kitchen and Grand Salon it's actually a relatively large room room with table and chairs to seat 21, with walls decorated in French toile-de-jouy fabric and Limoges porcelain.
games Room
We always think this feels a bit warm and cosy, furnished with darker pieces and dominated by our billiard table, this is the perfect place for teens to hang out or to have a glass or two over a game of snooker. It's not a ful-sized table, so you won't have to over-extend yourself! Board games aplenty live here and you'll love the retro cinema seats too.

Sneaking away from the crowd needn't be a hassle at the Manoir. We have a largish collection of books (feel free to leave your own books for others to enjoy, but don't take as it's our personal collection) from which you're bound to find something you like to curl up with by the window.
Snug
On the very top floor of the Old Side of the house is our snug area. It has a gorgeous velvet sofa and plenty of cushions as well as a small tv and dvd player, perfect for chilling out on a wet afternoon or packing the kids off to get a bit of peace and quiet.
Outside and On the Estate
Outside, the Manoir sits in 6 acres of land, a haven for you to enjoy during your stay, explore, sit, play and take in the calming views. Our grounds include a large rambling field for messing around in or family sports days, and a more tamed, lawned, garden area with the pool and its terrace. There is a lovely small orchard with apple, pear, cherry and chestnut trees and you'll also find fig and walnut trees elsewhere in the grounds. The wooded copse overlooking a wonderful view is great for den-building and make-believe, whilst the barbecue area under the covered terrace is perfect for chargrilled suppers or toasting marshmallows!
Crucially for large group holidays, your whole party can also dine outside under the covered terrace or loll about with picnics on the grass. If you'd like to make a special occasion dinner, we have a number of rustic trestle tables and benches that can be set up under the trees for a twilight supper or lunch under the cooling canopy of the trees during the blazing hot summers. Catering and chef services are of course available to make your stay really relaxing!
The Old Sheep Shed Cottage (the Bergerie) hosts a bright loft studio and yoga space upstairs with fitness and yoga equipment for our retreats and holiday guests. Downstairs is a ping pong table for surprisingly competitive tournaments! We have a number of lovely local yoga teachers, massage therapists, beauty therapists and other wellbeing experts who can come to the Manoir to make sure you leave feeling rested and relaxed. We have a small collection of bikes that live in the Old Bread Oven for scrambling around the estate or cycling short distances (into the village for example), but you can also choose to hire bikes for longer distances for delivery straight to the Manoir.
Kitchen Terrace
Right outside the back doors of the Kitchen, this terrace is perfect for gathering for pre-dinner drinks whilst the finishing touches are being applied to supper, or for morning coffee before any of the rest of the house is up.
covered terrace
Under auvent to the barn, an extension of the barn's roof which protects from the sun, wind and rain, you'll find a lovely area to sit and eat as a group. There's a huge long table main from a fallen tree on the estate by our predecessors as well as a well-loved barbecue area. It's also the perfect place to workout in the hot summer months if you're so inclined!
lawns & Pool
The main area at the back of the house is the lawns and the pool, which is where our guests enjoy spending most of their time. The slopes are perfect for overlooking the house and valley, for sunbathing by the pool or on the grass, and there's plenty of room for a rather hilly game of croquet. There are a few well-placed trees to over some much-needed shade in the hotter months too!
The Old Sheep Shed Cottage
This lovely this cottage which makes up the fourth side of the main courtyard used to be the manor farm's sheep shed and also housed the bread oven that all important farmsteads would have had. Now you'll find the Old Bread Oven on the courtyard side of the building, home to our small bike, bat, and ball collection, whilst the main part of the cottage, entered from the Orchard side, is where our ping pong table lives downstairs and you'll find our yoga studio and fitness space upstairs.
Orchard and wood
The small Orchard on the other side of the Old Sheep Shed bears fruit for the most part in the Autumn months (apples, pears, chestnuts) but you'll also be able to taste the sweet fruit from the big cherry tree in the summer - don't be shy, enjoy! The small copse of Wood (we have another acre of Wood a few minutes drive away) beyond the Orchard is far enough for kids to play noisy games away from grown up ears, but near enough to be within easy reach to proudly show off handsome play dens.
Field
Behind the stables at the top of the estate, and spreading out to right of the driveway as you approach the house, is a large field perfect for wanding (we mow paths in the long grass during the warmer months) comptemplating, going for a jog or playing hid and seek. A great spot for overlooking the alley too and we can even set up tables there for an outdoor celebratory meal - nourish yourself in nature!
